Venezuela has long been known as the one country that has an ironclad voting system that is foolproof. Even candidates who lose accept the outcome without question. The fact that the US wants Venezuela's oil and thinks if it wants it, it gets to have it, is the reason the vote was called fraudulent by the US. We're a shi tty country, the worst, along with Israel.

As the Venezuelans have sussed out, the US is only interested in elections that it can hijack:

When it’s not in the USG’s interest, they sit it out on the sidelines. In 2008, coups reared their ugly face in Honduras, in which the military overthrew the leftist government of Manuel Zelaya. The US Ambassador issued a cable stating the illegality of the coup . The Ambassador’s evidence wasn’t enough for the USG to condemn the coup. Furthermore, during the 2017 Honduran elections, as results poured in, it was evident that the leftist party would win. However, an unexpected blackout shook the electoral system , once restored, the party in power now held a commanding lead. The electoral officials, belonging to the governing party, refused a recount. Again, the US stayed mum. Ironically, when the fraudulently elected right wing president, Juan Orlando Hernandez, finished his term, the US extradited him on drug trafficking charges. He’s been sentenced to 40 years in prison. What’s more troubling is the blatant support the US provided the trafficker, as charges against him preceded his presidency.

The USA could buy the oil, but no, it wants to steal it, like in Iraq and Syria. Hopefully this will one day stop
