While the USA provokes conflicts across the world, China has promoted economic development, lifting hundreds of millions out of poverty, building infrastructure, encouraging win-win cooperation.
The USA doesn't know strategy and it's behavior will cause our downfall. Fortunately Russia and China have neutered and checkmated the US War Machine. Since the Anglo-Zionist Empire🇺🇸🇫🇲🇮🇱 is failing, at least we won't be annihilated in nuclear fire. Hypersonics have rendered Nuclear Weapons and Bunkers OBSOLETE! The Oligarchs, War Mongers and War Profiteers now have nowhere to hide. American Patriots have a chance to take our nation back.
Nukes, as you say, which I don't think exist in the way claimed (I think they're lucrative deterrents), are no longer a threat, if they ever were. But that doesn't mean that many of the 8 billion of us are going to escape annihilation.
The Paris agreement (for those who signed up) has failed, emissions are still rising and electricity is providing an energy addition not a transition.
The economic collapse may hit the EU, UK and US first but the environmental collapse across the world, particularly the Global South, won't be far behind it.
Thanks for a great informative and thought provoking discussion. It is very refreshing to hear intelligent views and logical arguments rather than sensationalized propaganda and fear mongering. It is utterly tragic that we westerners have this manufactured negative perception of everything Chinese and so are completely ignorant of their historic social achievements, while we could be learning from their experiences, successes and failures. What a waste!
Building more infrastructure, increasing production and economic growth is not ultimately win-win for nations. It's lose and lose. We all go down together.
All very lovely. Yes, the US Empire is eating itself. 20% of GDP goes to health care (big pharma's model of keeping the population fat, sick, on drugs and unproductive has been very successful). This together with the military economy and the sanctions on China everything is now majorly backfiring.
Yes, China and Russia are promoting mutual economic growth and respect for sovereignty.
However, what no one with big followings is addressing, Ben, is that the climate and environmental crisis is already hitting and will be causing major agricultural failures and mass migrations by 2050.
There is no path in which both economic growth, lifting millions out of poverty or not, and 8 billion homo sapiens continue to exist.
Whatever the politics, outlook, colour or creed of the people: increased energy consumption (electric or not) and human existence are incompatible.
Why is everyone, including Desai and Hudson, ignoring this mammoth elephant in the room?
Thanks for sharing, Ben. Interesting discussion, much to process. Great insights on the government’s open-ended regulatory and policy approach used to tackle economic imbalances before these become full-blown crises. Probably explains why the imminent collapse of the Chinese economy-which has been making the rounds for the last 20 years-has not materialized. The upside when the state is not beholden to corporate interests.
Tragically, America is suffering arrested development... too many wars, corruptions, vested interests and failed democracy. Its a rolling insurrection decades long.

A great discussion. The title says it all.
