Another example of endless "Western" humanitarian crimes since at least the 15th century. As Gandhi responded when asked what he thought of Western Civilization, "It would be a good idea". Unfortunately no progress has been made since then.

Ben - I hope you'll bare with me, I don't see where I can post a general or other comment not connected to one article or the other. I really appreciate your work, as your oldest supporter (78 in a few days) I am jealous of your extensive grasp of the historical record at such an early age. The internet has made a huge difference compared to what we knew in SDS back then. Also, it seems the dam is breaking and the leaks are increasing. The next kiriakou is out there.

There is a take on the historical record regarding trade deals which were killed by Trump when he came to power. TPP, TTIP, TiSA (the worst) were really important to imperial planning as regards the economic isolation of China and Russia. When they fell apart it was very reveling, at least to me, on several issues. It showed, first of all, that they already were skating on thin ice, but were of considerable importance to Wall Street (deep state). Then suddenly it was necessary to find other ways to contain particularly China but also Russia. The result of this has wounded the empire and it has been forced to find other ways to cut off Europe from the east and maintain its hegemony. An additional beg loss for Wall Street was the absolutely amazing diplomatic skills of the ASEAN member states to negotiate and have signed the largest trade deal in human history. This seemed to come out of left field, the Asians work quietly, not only is the RCEP impressive for its size, look who is in it China-Australia-Japan all arch enemies. As I said, ASEAN did it not China or any other single country an association of countries. This is what cooperation among nations can achieve. BRICS gets lots of attention but ASEAN is just as important. This was another body blow to Wall Street taking away any chance of further financial containment of China through trade deals. All this is an important element in the Ukraine conflict, sanctions and all the aggression in Europe this I guess is plan B for economic containment. (Of course they were after Ukraine all along but this made it even more important.)

Perhaps I have not expressed myself so well but I hope you get the connection of the failed trade deals and what is happening now. To me it was one of the most important things that Trump did.

It seems to me that the next attack will be against the train traffic from China to Germany (over 10,000 to date) and Spain. I wonder if they'll blow up some track if they can't do it any other way.

If there is a place for these side discussions let me know. Thanks again, by the way I lived in Argentina for 12 years returning to the US 2019.

We were there just before Borrell’s “Gardeners” started. So much of World Heritage has now been destroyed.
