"But if you look closely, if you read between the lines, what is passing for industrial policy is essentially a policy which is neoliberalism, which is to say, giving more and more subsidies to big corporations."

It also follows that wars and their frequency now are no longer controlled by politicians but by the insatiable greed and lust for power and money of corporations. Western politicians at every level are sock puppets to corporate power. Neoliberalism on steroids=fascism on steroids .

Depending on the military out come, Ukraine is another victim of the neoliberal juggernaut. With each passing day the agenda of Western war mongers becomes glaringly obvious as they smear themselves with self-incrimination.

It is encouraging to hear BRICS is setting record high trading levels as the march to the multipolar world comes into being.

The geo-political changes we see daily are now driven by huge cartels: unions of monopolies.

These cartelsd replace or at minimum govern nation states witht one motive: profit.

That ehtnic or nationalist movements we see today in Africa and Latin America are similar, though different, to the non-alignment movement at its height during the Bandung in 1955.

The struggle is now no longer one between the USSR and US, for neo-colonial countries.

It is one against cartel fascism be it national or international.

In his essay, Neo-Colonialism—In Neo-Colonialism: the Last Stage of Imperialism Kwame Nkrumah explained neo-colonialism:

“Neo-colonialism is also the worst form of imperialism. For those who practise it, it means power without responsibility and for those who suffer from it, it means exploitation without redress.

In the days of old-fashioned colonialism, the imperial power had at least to explain and justify at home the actions it was taking abroad.

In the colony those who served the ruling imperial power could at least look to its protection against any violent move by their opponents.

With neo-colonialism neither is the case.

Neo-colonialism is based upon the principle of breaking up former large united colonial territories into a number of small non-viable States which are incapable of independent development and must rely upon the former imperial power for defense and even internal security.

Their economic and financial systems are linked, as in colonial days, with those of the former colonial ruler.”

Has China really experienced peace for hundreds of years? The mid 19th Century Taiping Rebellion was a pretty big thing. But I do agree, historically it seems China is much less expansionist/colonialist, and had periods of peace.

I did some math:

per the NYTimes, ~$113Bn have been "spent" on Ukraine. https://ibb.co/VxBmsLH

at the lowest price, Agricultural Land sells for ~$2200/acre IN THE US: https://ibb.co/khvSC5Z

Using the low USDA benchmark price of land for Ukraine, the ENTIRE $113 Billion "bill" (thus far) could be settled by as much as ~88K square miles of land, or...an area 300 miles x 300 miles in Ukraine!....and as illustration...here is an indication of 300x300 on google maps https://ibb.co/0K96jH6

Ukraine is out of this collateral.
