Economist Michael Hudson discusses the origin of Western debt-based societies and the research in his book "The Collapse of Antiquity: Greece and Rome as Civilization’s Oligarchic Turning Point".
An incredible dose of history, piercing through its mainstream smokescreen, exposing ugly truths and myths, while linking to the present. Michael Hudson's work and contribution to a better understanding of the role of established institutions, economic trends and mechanisms throughout human history is indispensable!
May I point out that Constantine never made Christianity a state religion? It was Theodosius I who made it the religion of the Roman Empire. Moreover, the whole passage on Saint Augustine is rather worrying as to the relevance of this work. Indeed, one gets the impression that Mr. Hudson has never read Augustine.
And then these repetitions of a "dark age": pity! this is not history, it's delirium.

Many thanks for this transcript!

Oh great, now I have another book to read! (Just kidding, this looks like it will be a wonderful and illuminating book to rip through!)
