Thank you for your informative journalism Ben. It seems the conflict with NATO in Ukraine is not so onerous on Russia that Putin cant take time out to organise a more hopeful future. It shines a light on the vacuous narrative of msm.

Apart from facilitating absolute misery and suffering on the people of Gaza and Palestine, the USs actions in regard to Israel’s genocide and aggression in the region seems to be augmenting the case for BRICs.

Great summary of this historic summit.

I Tmthought you wouldn't mind me mentioning that the declaration also included the rising importance of the NDB in BRICS.

This bank will likely be the vehicle used by BRICS to provide debt/ funding to BRICS members, allowing them to escape the predatory IMF, which is nothing more than a Washington DC financial proxy these days.

The ability of BRICS to provide debt on fair terms to BRICS states via the NDB is logical. It will complement the new BRICS Pay trading & settlement system, which allows members to avoid SWIFT, another predatory Washington DC financial weapon.

The importance of the Grains market exchange shouldn't be overlooked, either. BRICS states own and control the bulk of the world's commodities. The grains exchange will likely be the precursor to a much broader commodities market, trading in a vast range of commodities, that will be the global epicentre of commodities trading.

It's amazing how western governments and their media slaves have done everything they can to censor reporting if Kazan. Or perhaps it isn't amazing at all - after all, this was an historic summit that will be locked back on as the true foundation stone of a new, fairer, multipolar system.

The climate crisis is unfortunately going to (literally) rain very heavily on the BRICS parade.

Wouldn't it be amazing if BRICS were a culturally innovative alternative, not just a spinoff of what we already have?

A multipolar world isn't a solution to the root causes of our predicament.

Respectfully disagree. Read the declaration, in particular the parts about what BRICS stands for.

The raisin d'etre of BRICS is fairness & respect of each member's differences, not the imposition of external systems on vulnerable states by more powerful states.

The unique culture and suvereignty of each state is left alone and respected. These days, that is a highly innovative principle that simply does not exist in the West.

Yes sovereignty trumps unilateral climate action: i don't blame them, especially after the 'covid' debacle, however the climate crisis is going to bite BRICS in the bum.

And the 'in fighting' has already started...Brazil vs Venezuela. This does NOT bode well...But keep trying.

Brazil's stance is wrong, but it is in a difficult position.

The dispute between Brazil and Venezuela that you seem to be enjoying is caused by external factors, mainly threats against Brazil by a desperate & despicable Washington DC.

These threats pose risks to Brazil that can't be ignored - for the moment, that is.

Of course once the ability of DC to threaten Brazil decreases, Brazil will support Venezuela's admission into BRICS. Personally, I think Brazil should have just ignored DCs yapping and supported Venezuela's admission, but they decided to take a more cautious approach.

It will change nothing, in the long run. Venezuela will be fine. All other BRICS states support its membership, and with powerful friends in China & Russia, it has nothing to fear. It will definitely become a member, just a question of when, not if.

Excuse me...but what gives you the impression that I am 'enjoying' the dispute between Brazil and Venezuela???

I read it the same way as Scipio but on re-reading it can also be understood the way you intended. The English language is like that!
